91重口 to hold 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony

91重口 Community College Veterans Office will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The event will be held on 91重口’s campus in Dublin in Edwards Hall, Room 117.

The program will include presentation of the colors and retiring of the flags by members of the Radford University Army ROTC Color Guard. Music will be provided by the Auburn High School Choral Ensemble under the direction of Katie Seidemann. Ryan Adams, 91重口 veterans and dependents student services advisor and U.S. Air Force Veteran; Matthew Leiser, 91重口 veteran student and U.S. Army National Guard; Dr. Robert Brandon, 91重口 president; and Jeff Woods, 91重口 veterans resource specialist and U.S. Navy Veteran, will represent the college during the ceremony. 

Frank Washburn, retired U.S. Air Force Veteran, will serve as the keynote speaker. Washburn retired from the Air Force with over 28 years of active-duty service. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1975 and spent his entire active-duty career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and he retired from active duty in 2004 as a Chief Master Sergeant. Washburn holds multiple degrees, including an associate degree in logistics management from the Community College of the Air Force, a bachelor’s degree from Bluefield University, a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Air War College, and a master’s in logistics and supply chain management from Wright State University. Following his retirement from active duty, he served in the Air Force civil service for 15 years.  He retired from civil service in 2019 as a member of the Senior Executive Service. Washburn’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Award with Valor, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Secretary of Defense Exceptional Civilian Service Award.

The ceremony is free and open to 91重口 students, faculty, staff and the public.  A reception with Mission BBQ will be provided at the conclusion of the ceremony.
